Everything about Electoral District Of Goulburn totally explained

Goulburn is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Pru Goward of the Liberal Party of Australia.
The 2004 redistribution of electoral districts estimated that the electoral district would have 48,581 electors on 29 April 2007. It encompasses all of Goulburn Mulwaree Council (including Goulburn, Marulan, Tallong, Towrang, Bungonia, Lake Bathurst and Tarago), most of Wingecarribee Shire (including Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale, Bundanoon, Hill Top, Colo Vale, Yerrinbool, Berrima, Sutton Forest, Exeter, Wingello and Penrose), part of Upper Lachlan Shire (including Taralga) and a small part of Palerang Council.

History

Goulburn was first established in 1859, partly replacing Southern Boroughs, and abolished in 1991. In 1920, with the introduction of proportional representation, it absorbed Monaro and Bega and elected three members simultaneously. Monaro and South Coast were separated from it in 1927 and it reverted to a single-member electorate. It was recreated for the 2007 general election, from part of the abolished district of Southern Highlands and part of the old Burrinjuck.
